Dumbiedykes is a residential suburb of Edinburgh, Scotland that is situated at the heart of the city. The suburb has enjoyed an up and down history, as it was once one of the most impoverished areas of Edinburgh, but recent renovation have brightened the area’s prospects. Once the home to housing tenements and council estates, Dumbiedykes has flattened the low-cost housing and replaced it with modern apartment complexes and homes. Restaurants and shopping plazas are popping up to accommodate the growth, making Dumbiedykes one of the up and coming suburbs of Edinburgh.
