Dumbiedykes is a residential suburb of Edinburgh, Scotland that is situated at the heart of the city. The suburb has enjoyed an up and down history, as it was once one of the most impoverished areas of Edinburgh, but recent renovation have brightened the area’s prospects. Once the home to housing tenements and council estates, Dumbiedykes has flattened the low-cost housing and replaced it with modern apartment complexes and homes. Those that don’t want to walk can take one of the tram lines that pass through Dumbiedykes. This is a great way to get around, as you can get off wherever you’d like. There are also several Lothian bus lines that pass through Dumbiedykes from the central station in Edinburgh. Once there you can get around on foot, or even bicycle.
