Dalry is located near the city centre of Edinburgh and is mostly residential. However, it also has a number of shops, restaurants, and other amenities for the residents and visitors to the area to enjoy. The buildings in Dalry are a mixture of old tenements of Victorian vintage and new construction and provide an element of architectural interest for the visitor. Since the area is located near Princes Street it is close to the mall, as well as many of the city’s famous historic sites. Because it is near many places of employment, it is convenient as a residential area.
- Enjoy a swim at the Dalry Swim Centre, conveniently close to central Edinburgh. After a workout on the fitness equipment finish off in the sauna to relax those tired muscles.
- Watch a film or concert at the St. Bride’s Community Centre, which used to be a beautiful old church.
- Take a break from a busy schedule for a quiet visit to St. Martin’s, a historic church near the centre of Edinburgh, to enjoy a church service or one of the many special events on the calendar.
Dalry is only a fifteen minute walk from Princes Street where the train station is located for people coming to visit from other areas.
