Dalry is located near the city centre of Edinburgh and is mostly residential. However, it also has a number of shops, restaurants, and other amenities for the residents and visitors to the area to enjoy. The buildings in Dalry are a mixture of old tenements of Victorian vintage and new construction and provide an element of architectural interest for the visitor. Since the area is located near Princes Street it is close to the mall, as well as many of the city’s famous historic sites. Because it is near many places of employment, it is convenient as a residential area.
