Cameron Toll hotels
Cameron Toll is a scenic suburb in the southern end of Edinburgh, quite close to the city centre. The area is inundated with huge green spaces and picturesque villages offering many cultural and historical attractions for holidaymakers. The University of Edinburgh King's Buildings and the Royal Observatory are located in this suburb, and visitors may enjoy some of the regular events hosted by these organisations, like tours of the Observatory's copper dome or Public Astronomy Evenings. Another popular attraction is the Rosslyn Chapel, made famous by its historical connection to the Knights Templar and legends about the “Holy Grail”.
- Play a round or five of golf at one of the numerous courses around Cameron Toll, such as Swanston, Lothianburn, Braids Hills, or Merchants of Edinburgh Golf Courses.
- Ride horses and mountain bikes, hike at Pentland Hills Regional Park, an amazing spot of wilderness in the centre of Edinburgh that offers breathtaking views of central Scotland.
- Buy just about anything at the Cameron Hills Shopping Centre, where you can browse popular Scottish stores, like the country's largest Sainsbury's supermarket, and enjoy local specialities, such as Thornton's chocolates, and Gregg's baked goods.
Edinburgh International Airport is 21 kilometres from Cameron Toll using the A720 Motorway. Airport public transportation options include the 49 and 100 buses or, if travelling at night, the N22 and 49 or 30 buses. Waverley Railway Station is one of the major hubs on the Scottish rail system and it is served by many major cities in the United Kingdom. Many visitors travel by ferry from Belfast as well. Lothian buses serve the South as well as the Old Town district of Edinburgh, which makes it easy to travel back and forth from the city centre to Cameron Toll.
