Dover is a major ferry port town in the county of Kent, England, in White Cliffs Country. Known for its chalky white cliffs, this town will lure visitors with its natural beauty, castles and colourful gardens. The towns of Deal and Sandwich are also located in this area, and all are in close proximity to London.

Getting There & Around

Most travellers fly into Heathrow, Gatwick or Kent International. Since Kent is only 40 minutes away, this airport may be a better choice for some visitors. The National Express operates coach routes between London and Dover.

Upon arriving in Dover, visitors find two long-distance footpaths: the Saxon Shore Way and North Downs Way. There are two cycle routes as well for visitors who like to travel about on two wheels. Dover has well-marked motorways and is easily travelled and accessed by car.
