A place to lay your head

We booked this hotel for leisure, I had not realised how much it would cost to get a taxi into town and back. Budget for £60 return if you want a night out. The lobby is reasonably nice, the staff are polite and friendly. We got this hotel for £50ish so for that price it was great value - but it has lowered my perception of the Hilton brand - why? the rooms are no better than a Premier Inn, the bed was hard, the bathroom lacking luxury and all around the hotel the outdoor areas look really shabbily. It costs £5 to park there overnight. So if you just want place to stay and will be driving into town go and book it. If you want a weekend with a few drinks in town pay up to £60 more and you won't have the hassle of the 20 minute taxi there and back.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

If it's sunny. Walk across Clifton suspension bridge and enjoy a picnic in the park next to the observatory. Then walk down the hill to the marina and order some local beer/Cider and sit on the top deck of the the Grain Barge.

the hotel was conveniently located

the hotel was conveniently located for both motorway access and access to the city centre. we found the room to be perfectly adequate and clean. we secured a very good price for our kingsize deluxe room and found satff pleasant and helpful. we did not have the 'extras' such as fruit, wine, bathrobes in teh room when we arrived but a quick call to reception and this was sorted. the food was acceptable and plentiful but not to the same standard or with the same choice as other hilton hotels we have stayed at. overall we were happy with our stay and would use the hotel again.
