Imperial Short Break

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is looking very tired and in need of some T.L.C. The room was clean but yet again dated. For a 4 star hotel it was not as I would have expected it. There was a knob missing of one of the draws and the bathroom had water marks on the ceiling and the paint was flacking off. The shower curtain was dirty and the shower had only three settings, off, freezing cold and so hot it would burn you. I was expecting something nice being a 4 star, but didn't get. I would not stop there again.

Needs work

Front of house areas are clean and well maintained. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for other areas.....boarded up windows etc. our room was right at the back of the hotel. The curtains were dusty. The timber window frame in the bathroom was rotten and lacked a roller blind or similar. The tile grouting was poor. The toilet seat had a mind of its own. Most of the staff were friendly but the barman on Sunday evening. Very very rude and seemed more interested in his female colleague than the customers. Not good when you order hot drinks and he complains and says it'll take 15 minutes!! No complaints about the cost but just because we got this relatively cheap does not mean we should be hidden away at the back of the hotel in a room which appears little used, even if the hotel was full.

Should be better

I just wanted to leave some feedback for the hotel, I stayed in your hotel on the 25th-26th January 2014 when we first arrived we had a lovely greeting from the reception that were very helpful, the beds were also very comfortable, overall it was the room that let the stay down. As soon as we entered the room the windows were banging with the wind so we had to fold a leaflet an jam the window to stop the banging, then we went to access the wifi which we were told was available around the hotel apart from our room by the sounds of it as we could not get on it due to the connection being so low. We let this pass as we did not want to complain (I work with the public and I know how people can be, so didn't want to be that 'awkward' person). Then I realised I forgot my hair dryer so I looked around the room and couldn't find one, as I left the hotel I asked if there was a chance I could borrow one and they said they would have one put in our room for when we return. We arrived ba ck in our room later that night still no hair dryer, so i rang reception an they said one will be brought up again, still no hair dryer. We got up in the morning an went to reception again and they brought one up as soon as we plugged it in, it kept turning off as it was over heating so it took over an hour to dry my hair, by this time it when getting close too 11 o'clock (the checking out time) so I could not organise to get another so I had too make do with the one that took 3 calls to get. I think for a hotel of your potential we should of had a better service, I hope this feedback helps. Thanks Kerrianne & Alex

Hurried late booking

Great to have found whilst looking for a late booking which gave me the opportunity to stay at this hotel. It suited my purpose as friends were in the location and we had a super evening together in the bar area which served a similar menu to the restaurant. It was also good to use the sauna facility after a long journey!

Classic hotel!

Stayed here for a 3 day break in late September, to see the lights, sights, etc. Excellent position - away from the noise/hassle of the centre of Blackpool, but within easy reach of all tourist areas, via the tram and bus stops right outside. (A v isit to The Tower is recommended - lots to see there - and the circus was incredible! Also, surprisingly, the Sea Life Centre and madame Tussauds were both great!! Get a joint ticket to all those attractions on -limne and save a fortune! And a day pass for the trams/buses is good value at £4.50.) Lots of history - the Queen and many PMs have stayed here, over the last 130 odd yrs. Beautiful public area, lots of dark wood panelling, huge chandeliers, etc, esp. in Palm Court restaurant. Nice indoor pool (quite large), Jacuzzi, gym. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast and dinner. We recommend it and will stay there again - especially as their rates are so reasonable, even compared with the big budget hotel chains and B& Bs.

Excellent hotel in great location.

Excellent hotel in great location. A bit dated in parts but it is about 130 years old and the current owners, Barcelo, have plans for refurbishment as advertised in the hotel reception. Service was as you would expect from a top hotel.

Hotel was in a good location on

Hotel was in a good location on the sea front, a few mins walk from the tower. Plenty of parking. Reception area very nice. Room was average size with a modern clean bathroom. Kettle with tea & coffee provided. Celling in need of some repair (damp patches and wallpaper hanging off) All staff were very helpful and friendly. I used my priority points to pay for most of the room rate, probably wouldn't have paid the full £95 if I didn't have these points. I enjoyed my stay at the Imperial.
