Aston is located just northeast of the city centre of Birmingham in the West Midlands of England. Aston has a rich and storied history that dates back to the eleventh century, as exemplified by its many historical buildings built over the centuries, which collectively represent a bevy of architectural styles. Much of Aston consists of nineteenth-century terraced houses that, along with the iconic Aston Hall, have become symbolic of the city’s illustrious past. Now the city is mainly known as the home of Aston University, as well as for the quaint canals that snake throughout the city.
