Roman Bath hotels
Roman Bath, in the appropriately named UK City of Bath, is a very popular tourist destination (more than a million visitors each year) in the South West of England. This historic location is the home of an ancient Roman site used for public bathing and, while maintaining the original structure, has been enhanced to provide a modern spa experience. Tourists can view the original remnants of the Roman Baths and then move on to the Pump Room, built in the Georgian era to augment the traditional water treatments and experiences of this historic area.
- Walk through the original Roman Bath structures, and view the Sacred Spring, Roman Temple, Roman Great Bath and artefacts found unearthed in the area.
- Book a Spa package and experience the steam rooms and naturally heated thermal waters, and sample the mineral water from the Grand Pump fountain.
- Finish off your day with a lunch or a champagne tea in the Pump Room restaurant that is part of the Bath complex of water treatment rooms and buildings.
There are plenty of transport options into Bath, including flights to the nearby Bristol International Airport, driving down the M4 or M5 roadways, or via railway and coach lines. The city has 'Park and Ride' buses, and day passes are available. There are plenty of coach tours you can join to get around as well. There are city centre car parks near the Roman Bath if you intend to drive, but go off peak to avoid traffic congestion. This is a good city for pedestrians, as most attractions are in easy walking distance including Roman Bath.
