Ao Prao Resort Rayong features both a tranquil retreat and an activity hub for travellers looking for a eventful holiday. The property sits on the island of Rayong, declared a National Park by the government, offering unspoilt terrain and natural attractions. The region's strong Buddhist adherence is evident in the Rayong Buddha monument. Famous poet Sunthorn Phu inspired another monument, the Koh Samed Mermaid. Not to miss are the excellent diving spots of Koh Man Nai, Koh Talu and Koh Kudee.
Guests at Ao Phrao Resort Rayong enjoy water sports facilities like canoes, sailboats and windsurfing boards to maximize their beach holiday. No Thai vacation is complete without a traditional massage, also offered in the premises.
Ao Prao Resort is two hours from Bangkok and one hour from Pattaya. While the resort is relatively close to the city, the property provides the perfect escape from the busy urban life.
The Sea View Restaurant at Ao Prao Resort serves delicious Thai and international favourites made more appetizing by the picturesque scene.
Tropical-style cottages rest on lush greenery and give an earthy feel to the dwellings. All 53 accommodation units are well appropriated with standard beach vacation essentials like air conditioning, private bathroom and satellite TV. Private balconies afford views of the sea.

5 star location, disappointing experience. Ao Prao has a wonderful location and the restaurant and bar staff were all friendly, smiling and keen to help. The Hotel welcome was pleasant as was the reception - although the staff on the front desk
have only very limited English.
The room - a deluxe cottage - was a little tired and lacking in maintenance. Acceptable, perhaps, but in a 2/3 star place - not at the prices being charged.
The restaurant has a wonderful setting. Service and food were good but the prices were very high. Again, we'd have expected better for the money.
Two significant grumbles. The advertised internet access was a cable connection in the reception, no wireless. At 300 bht an hour (£6) Another frustration was the ferry. The first boat in the morning is at 10. We needed to leave by 8. No problem - we could have the hotel boat for 2000 bht - £40!!!
So we left a day early, disappointed. Nice place but not great value for money.
