The Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao, facing the Guggenheim Museum, is the Silken Hotels' first five-star and the chain's pride. The GHBD expresses a contemporary concept that avoids ostentation and promotes fun. The project is infected by its neighbor, the Guggenheim's, activity and offers a space that contains a selection of furniture that represents the most emblematic design from the 20th century. Its singularity consists in the application of a concept of integral design, of great, formal coherence, carried out by Javier Mariscal and Fernando Salas with their respective teams. GHBD isn't only a hotel to stay at, but a colourist microcosmos that opens its door to whoever wishes to get close to it and have a coffee, a drink or eat in its restaurant

The taste for the essential that expresses Doma restaurant minimalist scenography is transmitted to the food, where the prime material is the character. Eating in the Basque country is serious, that's why the kitchen is sat upon solid pillars, forged with intelligence and imagination. Depending on the gastronomic direction of Ramon Berriozabal, a national prize-winner for gastronomy.
A large, versatile space, that can house up to 500 or 20 people thanks to it being a diaphanous structure establishing small, intimate spaces by means of a sophisticated system of partitions. A multipurpose space for family celebrations, full of warmth, comfort and good taste and also for company meetings, conventions or product presentations, which is already equipped with the most sophisticated technology. The touch of color, in an attractive range of reds, is added by the carpets designed by Mariscal.

We were only in Bilbao for a couple of nights, mainly to go to the Guggenheim. This hotel is literally across the road. A bit tricky to get to - but the taxi was easy and inexpensive. This is a five star hotel and lives up to the rating. Hotel
staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the Guggenheim cafe was a great way to start the day (and cheaper than the hotel). Dinner at the Guggenheim restaurant was fantastic.
Hotel has silly rules about having to sit outside on the top floor terrace if only having a drink - even though it was too cold for us to sit outside and there was nobody in the restaurant. We went elsewhere for the drink.

Good situated hotel
Everything ok and good quality, except:
- Don't take room 308, only minor window which you even cannot see or find easily.
- Breakfast was not included the price. 20 € extra cost, but the breakfast was good. And the place was lovely with a good
view in the 7th floor.
