Once the impressive Hispano Colonial bank, today the BCN Hotel Colonial is a comfortable and modern hotel located in the Gothic Quarter. From here all the sights such as the Cathedral, Museu Picasso, and Palau de la Musica Catalana are within a few minutes walk. The popular Port Vell with its shops, bars, cinema, and restaurants is also very close by.
The BCN Hotel Colonial is a comfortable and well positioned hotel close to the port in the popular Barri Gotic area of the city. Guests of the hotel will appreciate the proximity of the public transport links as well as facilities such as wireless Internet access, newspapers, and twenty four hour reception where multi lingual staff can help with tourist information. Business customers also have access to meeting rooms.
At the southern end of the Via Layetana, the Colonial is well placed for guests who wish to take a day off from sightseeing and spend time on the beach or take a boat trip, as the Port Olimpic and the town beach are easily accessible.

Very good hotel, nice bid rooms, great location (between the Barrio Gotico and El Born (which is much nicer than Barrio Gotico), just a few steps from the harbour and about 10 min walk to the Barceloneta beach. Lots of good restaurants nearby and
a supermarket right around the corner. The rooms right on Via Laietana are very noisy, the noise does not quiet down even on night time. We changed to the room that looks over the small street going to the Barrio Gotico, it was much more quiet. However, completely quiet are the rooms that open to the yard (basically your view would be a wall), however these rooms are really big and have a batch.
Breakfast is expensive, didn't eat there. Just across the and a little left in El Born there is a little restaurant called El Casal, which is simple, but fantastic.
Overall, definitely would stay in that hotel again.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
El Casal for brakfast, Milk for brunch and dinner, look for the restaurants in El Born, not in Barrio Gotico, less touristy.
