Paseo de Gracia

Paseo de Gracia, or Passeig de Gracia, was originally designed as Barcelona’s very own Grand Avenue and, as far as tourists are concerned, is conveniently located near other famous city spots like Plaza Catalunya and the colourful Gracia district. Paseo de Gracia’s world-renowned thoroughfare is believed to have existed since Ancient Roman times and, today, is a visually stunning strip that showcases cutting-edge architectural styles alongside historic stone pavements. Paseo de Gracia draws thousands of tourists every year with its many eateries, unique shops, outdoor cafes, and bars, and also serves as a charming public spaces ideal for strolling or relaxing for the afternoon.

  • Tour the street, enjoying views of authentic Catalan Modernist architecture and window shopping at some of Barcelona’s most impressive local and international fashion boutiques, including Loewe, Hermès, Zara, Chanel, Laurel, and Yves-Saint-Laurent.
  • Visit the La Pedrera, located at No 92 Paseo de Gracia, one of the masterpieces by renowned Barcelona artist Antoni Gaudí that was originally called Casa Milà and later was transformed into a museum.
  • Admire Casa Batlló, another famous work of Antoni Gaudí that is now a museum and is regarded by locals as one of the most precious landmarks in Barcelona.

Paseo de Gracia is well-served by public transportation. Visitors can reach the street by taking the Barcelona Underground Metro Transit System. The Metro L3 (green) and L4 (yellow) all serve the southern region of the street, while the Metro L5 (blue) serves the northern end. The nearest Metro station to this world-renowned thoroughfare is the Passeig de Gràcia Station, which is also one of the most central train stations in the city. There are also several city buses that operate routes to this street and its surrounding areas on a daily basis.
