National Folk Museum
The National Folk Museum of Korea in Seoul is a fantastic fixture in South Korea that aims to display an educational and cultural experience showing how Koreans lived in traditional times. Started up in 1945 as an attempt to preserve artefacts of Korean folk life, it has grown massively in size. The National Folk Museum of Korea holds within it three exhibition halls that each concentrate on different subjects, including the “The History of Korean People,” and holds a donation hall that honours those who have donated items given to the museum.
- Tour the Korean Way of Life exhibit, showing how the Koreans lived during the 1932 - 1910 Joseon period, during which Korea developed from a nature central society into an agricultural society.
- Walk though The Life of the Koreans exhibit in Seoul, illustrating the life of upper-class Koreans living in the Joseon period, including the influence of Confucius and ritual festivities.
- Before you go, be sure to visit the gift shop and take home a souvenir to remember your time in Seoul’s National Folk Museum of Korea.
