Jamsil is a very popular area of Seoul due to its many sporting and entertainment venues. The Olympic Arena, used for the 1988 Summer Games, is located here, along with several other noteworthy arenas in the Jamsil Sports Complex. The district is also conveniently located near the glitzy Gangnam district in Southern Seoul, where tourists can enjoy gambling at the Seven Luck Casino and shopping for upscale goods at the Galleria shopping centre. Visitors with more modest budgets will have just as much fun shopping at the Lotte Department Store and Garden5 near Jamsil Station.
- Explore the museums, shopping centres, exhilarating rides and shows at Lotte World, one of Seoul's most celebrated theme parks; the park includes the Magic Island outdoor amusement park and its indoor counterpart, Guinness World Record.
- Enjoy basketball and other indoor sporting events – as well as concerts from international bands and singers – at the Jamsil Arena.
- Get tickets to watch the LG Twins or Doosan Bears face their opponents in the 27,000-seat Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul.
The Incheon Airport is roughly ninety minutes away from Jamsil by public transportation, and there are several buses that run on this route throughout the day. The A'REX rail is a convenient alternative, although the trains only go to Seoul Station or further along to Gimpo Airport. Airport trains and buses only run until the last flights land, so it may be necessary to take a taxi in the late hours. Visitors from other parts of Asia may arrive via trains, buses, and ferries. Most areas, including Jamsil, offer taxi, subway and public bus services.
