Gimpo Airport

Gimpo Airport is located in the city of Seoul. This airport is the second largest international airport in Korea, and is mainly used by travellers interested in touring the local attractions. The Gimpo Airport’s founding was mainly due to the Japanese army developing a landing strip in 1939 for military use. In 1971, the airport officially became an international air travel hub. This Airport has domestic and international flights to various places around the country. Recent remodelling of the airport has allowed this air travel hub to offer more international flights to and from this region of South Korea.

  • Spend a few hours at the Lotte Mall located on the same site as the Gimpo Airport; the Lotte Mall is a large shopping complex with a hotel, theme park, boutique shops, and a variety of restaurants.
  • Relax at the Sky Park after a long flight to Seoul – this park is a natural ecological park that surrounds the shopping complex and airport.
  • Head over to Seoul’s Lotte World amusement park for a fun day with family and friends; Lotte World is the largest indoor amusement park ever constructed.

Getting to and from the Gimpo Airport can easily be done by utilizing the airport subway station. Airport passengers can access the Seoul subway line 5 by using an underground passageway. This is by far the most inexpensive way to travel. Travellers can also take the bus from the airport. Bus lines 1 and 3 service several terminals within the Gimpo Airport as does the continuous taxi line waiting to take passengers to their destination, which will be close to a 20-minute ride from the airport. Moreover, Deluxe Taxis are available for timely travel to and from the airport.
