As travellers make their way to the destination of urban Seoul, South Korea, they might find themselves within the district of Dobong, one of 25 districts within Seoul. It measures 20.8 kilometres square and it is situated on the north side of the Han River, the fourth largest water route within all of the Korean peninsula, once serving as a trade route to China. The Dobong district is highly visited for the reflective beauty of Han River, but also for the proximity Dobong has to the Doseonsa Temple and the mountainous Bukhansan National Park.
- Whilst in South Korea, visit the Earthenware Folklore Museum including more than 3,000 artefacts ranging from the late 1300s to the modern day, from musical instruments to ancient pottery.
- If guests to Dobong fancy hiking, a visit must be made to Mount Dobong, Mount Suraksan or Mount Bughansan; these mountains host to numerous trails and exotic wildlife.
- Guests of Seoul ought to journey to Doseonsa Temple as well, a unique temple embracing the peace found only in the misty tendrils of elevated landscape and soft whisper of far-reaching waterfalls.
Whilst travelling throughout Dobong, visitors can use Seoul’s reliable bus or train system. The bus system consists of four lines designated by a specific colour. These colours include blue, green, red and yellow. Be sure to use the correct coloured bus as these buses travel different routes. Guests to Seoul can also utilize either the Gyeongbu Line between Seoul and southwestern Busan city, or the Honam Line between Seoul’s Yongsan Station and southeastern Mokpo. There is one express train category, the KTX express trains, and two non-express categories, the Saemaeul and Mugunghwa trains. All trains pass through Seoul.
