Seoul’s most fashionable district is affluent Apgujeong, renowned across South Korea for its luxury and quality goods. Enticing a never-ending number of style-conscious youth, the area is also home to some of the city’s richest people. As with any other Seoul district, Apgujeong has its share of uniquely Korean charms, such as second-hand shops, quirky board-game cafes and beloved fortune-telling saju cafes. International culture is embraced in a district that leads the way in designer Korean and world fashion and trends. An afternoon of celebrity spotting around the district’s boutiques and restaurants is a great way to spend a holiday.
- CineCity — Catch the latest Korean or international blockbuster at this popular Seoul mega-complex, which houses six screens, as well as private viewing rooms, shopping, and dining.
- Galleria Department Store — Take a shopping adventure through Apgujeong’s most iconic fashion complex, for more affordable treats from Estee Lauder or Hugo Boss in the West Gate or a splurge at Prada or Bvlugari in the East Gate.
- Seoul's Dosan Park: Take a break from the hustle of Apgujeong at Dosan Park, a peaceful green retreat with walking trails, quiet spots with benches, and a flower garden.
Taking the subway is the primary method of transportation around South Korea’s capital, Seoul. Many of Seoul’s districts lie on either side of the Han River, which cuts the city in half. The neighbourhood of Apgujeong is located south of the Han River, formally in the district of Gangnam. If visitors are taking the subway, their destination is Apgujeong Station. Taxis can be hired from anywhere in the city, but it is cheaper to call up one of the regular taxis by phone, rather than pay extra for the luxury taxis, which lurk around the area.
