I came to this hotel because my conference recommended it and I ended up staying a couple extra days. The rooms were very modern and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly! However, all the add ons were very expensive (so I'd
recommend doing them outside of the hotel). The drinks are double the price of the nice restaurants just outside the hotel, and any tours or taxis they book for you are at least double the price of anywhere else, so plan your own tours, there are lots of companies to choose from. They even charge for local phone calls and only provide 200mb of wifi every day (which isn't very fast). Also, the pool is really small (if that's an Important feature for you). However, the location is really close to the train, and a large shopping mall with movie theatres, shops, outdoor cafes, and everything else you might need. It's a bit far from downtown though.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Pilanesburg national park is only 2 hours away, so if you have an extra day to spare I would highly recommend going on a safari. We saw 4 of the "big 5" - elephants, rhinos, buffalo and lions, plus hippos, zebras, giraffes, and impala. However, I wouldn't recommend booking with the hotel (too expensive), instead I booked with Detour Africa, which was 1650 rand for the drive to and from the park, a closed car tour in the morning, lunch, and then an open car tour in the afternoon. It was a great day!
