Area description
De Waterkant Village is tucked between Table Mountain, the CBD and the V&A Waterfront. De Waterkant borders the Cape Town Fan Mile and is within walking distance to Cape Town Stadium. Most cottages, guest houses and apartments in De Waterkant Village boast views from Asian inspired roof top terraces, that sweep all the way down to the V&A Waterfront and across to Table Mountain. The mixed Georgian, Cape Dutch and Asian colourful architecture, cobbled streets and historical standing is what makes De Waterkant Village so unique. De Waterkant is often described as being arty, charismatic and quaint and is a truly special place decorated with gorgeous al fresco restaurants, sidewalk cafes, boutiques and bars and is often compared with Greenwich Village.

Great family accomadation

A wonderful place to stay. We had a 3 bedroom unit with kitchen, laundry and 2 bathrooms. Room to park the car and within walking distance to the grocery store. Value for money. Very handy having a washing machine. Only drawback was no wifi at all.

great stay

these apartments are perfect way to relax and enjoy the waterfront. It is not hard to park in the area so you can hire a car. Great bars and restaurants in the immediate area, such as the roof top bar and easy access to local stores for fabulous fresh food. Within walking distance (about 1.5- 2km) to the waterfront restaurants. We couldn't have been happier with our accommodation. Make sure you check out the roof top terrace for your breakfast. Although there are beggars around the area they weren't a problem and we felt safe even at night.

Cape Town for Beginners

Staying in (African) Winter season ist not recommended. Floor was cold as there was only minimal electrical heating. Quiet, good security and easy access to supermarket. Don't forget adapters for SouthAfrica power outlets.
