Trip with Friends

Hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Orchard Rd shopping district. Staff were very helpful with directions. The all day food and complimentary mini bar was a good bonus. 2 pieces of laundry per room was included and this came in very handy. Would stay here again.

Above and beyond expectations

My partner and I were disappointed we only stayed two nights! We had just been travelling through Singapore and various areas of Thailand and this hotel was the best of the trip, by far. Free mini bar (inclusive of chips, cookies, soft drink, coconut water, isotonic drink and beer), with a decent coffee machine in the room. Also inclusive of the stay was breakfast and snacks in the buffet area througout the day and cocktails from 6-8:30pm, all of which no extra charge. Free water and coffe machine next to the gym, pool and sauna. Rooms were replenished daily, they were kept very clean and modern. Blackout shades on the windows were another added bonus. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel is only a five minute walk down Mount Elizabeth to the hustle and bustle of Orchard road. Couldn't be happier with the stay, and I am incredibly picky! Already recommended to friends and looking forward to returning.

Quirky but exceptional

Let's start with the essentials - I've stayed at many of the top hotels in Singapore over the years, they've all been very good and I've never had any complaints. So why have I been raving enthusiastically about the Quincy but never about the others? The hotel itself is fine, but that's true of almost everywhere I've stayed. Nowhere, however, have I ever had anything like the quality of service that I experienced at the Quincy. Although I arrived well over an hour before the official check-in time, the staff instantly made me welcome, apologised that my room wasn't ready, sat me comfortably in the dining room with wifi, complimentary drinks and refreshments (including a special cool drink brought to my table quite unsolicited). As soon as my room was available (fairly soon after I arrived) the wonderful young woman who'd checked me in came to tell me and to escort me there. The evening cocktails (also complimentary) were again accompanied by a range of canapes; being vegetarian, I was unable to test most of them - though once my dietary preferences became known, an offer was quickly made to prepare something specially for me. Despite the hotel being pretty much full, the staff still remembered my name whenever our paths crossed. Returning to collect my luggage the next day (I'd checked out earlier and left it with the concierge) I declined the offer of finding a taxi and remarked that I planned to stroll down to the nearby MRT station - instantly I was given a couple of bottles of water to help me cope with the heat of the day. It was a delight to have my picture taken with several of the staff when I checked out - at all times these (consistently young and attractive) people managed to make me feel that they really cared about my comfort and that my enjoyment of my stay gave *them* great pleasure. They're the best hotel staff I've ever known in any city anywhere in the world. I can't recommend them too highly. Thanks to you all for making my brief stay such fun, I'll definitely be back.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

not reallyl an attraction, but yet another advantage of the Quincy - if going out during the rainy season (as I did) do remember to take the supplied umbrella (as I didn't). When it rains in Singapore, it's possible to get saturated *very* quickly!

Comfortable stay

Airport transfer is complimentary, the driver is polite and wait me in the airport. The room is clean and quietly. Mini bar is sufficient and refilled every day. Location is good for shopping. The swimming pool is small and only 3 seats in pool side. Those seats are always be occupied. Variety of food can be improved

Convenient and friendly

Although the airport pick-up had to be arranged separately, everything worked well. The driver was waiting outside the arrival area with a proper sign board. The ride to the hotel took less than 20 minutes and friendly staff arranged everything necessary for a good start. Minibar is all free and stock is sufficient. Further free food was provided in the lobby dining. Don't expect too much for food variety but Singapore offers plenty of other great places to eat. The room was in good size, clean and wireless internet worked without any problems. Check-out was again very efficient and friendly.

Perfect Business Hotel

Well, I think Quincy might just be the perfect hotel for Business travel! It is one street back from Orchard (Paragon end/Mount Elizabeth Hospital end) and so right in the middle of shopping zone. The staff are excellent, friendly, quick and efficient. The inclusions are exactly what is required: One free airport transfer Free Breakfast and meals throughout the day (lunch and dinner and snacks in between) Free Wifi which actually works Free laundry (2 items per day) Free minibar restocked daily (beer, soft drinks) Free 24 hour gym and infinity pool This has just become my regular Singapore Hotel!

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Waku Ghin (Tetsuya Wakuda's restaurant in Marina Bay Sands Casino) is not worth it. I have always wanted to try this restaurant as Tetsuyas (Sydney) is among the best restaurants in the world. Waku Ghin is not up to that standard- good food, but not world class and very, very expensive. I had the lobster and the wagyu (can't resist these two options when available!). They were great but when the bill is up around $200 SGD with wine, they need to be better than great.

Good value, good location for Takashima shopping

Overall, a good value option for shopping to Orchard St's best department store, Takashimaya. Otherwise, rooms are pretty basic though reasonably modern. Pool is 24 hours but not very big, not very flash. Hotel is used by lots of Asian locals, so doesnt have a massive international feel. It is reasonable value considering all of the above. Fine if you want something basic, clean, with all the main amenities like wi-fi, breakfast etc, and a short 5 min walk to Orchard Rd. If you want flash and pizzaz, then this is NOT the place for you.

Value PACKED

The staff were very accommodating with all my requests and very helpful when suggesting sights and activities I should do. We easily found our way to The Singapore Zoo...theres a shuttle bus from the Hyatt that costs $4.50 and it takes about 45mins to get there and the night safari is fun and so close to the animals. We took MRT to Little India, Marina Bay - go to the 57th floor of The Marina Bay Sands for a cocktail and an amazing view, we didn't feel we needed to do the Singapore Flyer after 2 hours up here for free, make sure you stay there for sunset and check out the Gardens By the Bay light show, Chinatown, Clark Quay - do the bumboat river cruise. The Quincey is close to MRT Orchard Rd- which is the best way to get around. Our room was clean however it needed a good dust and floors needed sweeping and mopping. I actually gave it a clean myself. The bathroom was very clean and the beds were perfect. After showering the room stayed a little damp and would benefit from an exhaust fan. However all the inroom perks were there, even an ironing board, shoe shine and everything you need to stay connected. The selling point for this hotel is all the inclusions you receive and how well these are executed. Free mini bar, wifi, breakfast, lunch and dinner, all day ice cream, tea and coffee and cocktail hours too...plus pool/gym is 24hour use. You really don't need to eat anywhere else if you don't want too. The menu changed slightly everyday and you select from a menu, it's not mass produced buffet food, your meal is fresh every time, and includes salad bar, drinks and dessert. The comprehensive list of inclusions and it's location make this the perfect place to stay. The fact that our room wasn't AMAZING just didn't matter in the end, it was comfortable and we slept well. I would stay here again next time for sure.

Don't get the tourist MRT pass, get the normal pass the locals get, $12 for the card with $7 credit on it, the trips cost less using the card. One trip was going to cast $2 with tourist pass but only cost 70cents with local card.
