Tired and dated

I was very disappointed. This hotel had been recommended to us and initially the walk to our first room on the 8th floor was very worn and grubby looking. The hallway was marked and the carpet very worn. The room was very clean though. The first night in the bed was like sleeping on the floor. The bed was like concrete. Late in the evening there were kids making noise, after 10:30pm. At about 0430 monkeys were skreetching and then at 0630 kids were running up and down the hall. Not a good night at all. We went to breakfast which was very good and after spoke to the manager, Matthew. Matthew was apologetic and relocated us to the 3rd floor. We didn't have interconnecting rooms as there were no more available but it was the best he could do. He also had a mattress topper placed on all the beds. The kids room had an awful smell. Ours was ok. I didn't feel comfortable saying anything more. For the price I was very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my friends in the state that it is in. I would say the. Breakfast was great. The the pool area was lovely and the staff very nice.

Great place to stay either on business or with family

Great hotel, attentive staff, excellent food, situated in a great spot plenty to do and see or do nothing, beach front, and 10 mins from shopping, the food standard in this hotel is of a very high standard, as you would expect from the Shangri- la brand, also good kids club with good staff and great pool with water features for the kids, they are happy ,we are happy.

Great family getaway

Wonderful hotel to stay with a young family. Would highly recommend. The pool area is amazing with three little water slides , a play area. You could spend all day on the sun lounge while watching the kids. Staff very friendly and rooms very comfortable.

Relaxing Family Getaway

We enjoyed our staycation at Shangri La very much...it was the first holiday with our newborn. The overall service was good and the staff was attentive to our needs. The location was also just nice with a private beach. However the swimming pool was a bit crowded could be that we stayed during the local school holiday period.

Stopover enroute to Oz

Having been to Singapore many times we decided to chill out on Sentosa Island and chose the Rasa Resort. Seaview panoramic room a good choice. Comfortable and clean with great view across the gardens and harbour. We were on the tenth floor, so unobstructed views. The coffee shop was full of families, mainly pre school, so we we're pleased we had access to the quiet adults only Business Lounge where a perfectly adequate breakfast was served by Lily the waitress ( who provided excellent service and remembered our beverage orders and choices from day two). One disappointment was the lack of vegetarian choices in the main restaurants. When are hotel chains going to realise that vegetarians are as important customers as meat eaters and provide more than one choice on the menu? Even the buffet was heavily meat and fish orientated and poor value for vegetarians.

Fun & relaxing staycation with Kids!

Very friendly and attentive staff. Both my kids @4 yrs & 9 yrs old enjoyed the facilities catered to them. The signature tree house, indoor & out door play area, slide pools with shelter etc.... Without leaving the hotel, itself is a fun play land for kids, while parents can relax. There are many young & friendly staff to help us to watch over our kids! Not mentioning their yummy buffet breakfast spread. Only complaint if only they can have alternate menu as both days for us, the same spread were served. Our kids prefer this staycation compared to our last stay in Marina Bay Sand :) Will make this hotel our annual staycation from now! Thumbs up to Rasa Sentosa & its well trained staff :)

Nit worse the price!

Don't know, what all the people talk about Sentosa. Everything is very artificial. And for a Shangri La it's very average. Have seen much nicer hotels,,,

Great pool for kids but mediocre service

I stayed in Rasa Sentosa for 4 days and 3 nights over the weekend. It is a great hotel for children because of the great pool, kids club, toddler room, playground, table tennis and easy access to beach for sand play. However, the service staffs in general are not attentive or good enough for a 5 star establishment. First, No one seemed to bother to attend to me for a while during breakfast. After putting up my hand for five mins, a chef behind the Indian food counter walked over and attended to me. I contributed that to low morale. On another occasion, I asked for ice cubes and straws but only the ice came. That's not first class service at all. Next, a girl from the front desk offered to check out the parking rate at Sentosa Cove for me as I planned to have dinner at that area but she never got back to me. There was another time where the housekeeper forgot to replace the bath rug after doing up the room. Yet another detail that was left out by the housekeeper was that the sewing kit has been opened and I'm probably the second person to use from that pack. Lastly, there was an emergency electrical servicing and the room was without air con from 1am to 5 am. Maybe my expectations were high but paying attention to all theses details is the way to set u apart from the rest.

Shangri-La Sentosa needs major upgrading

good : We shortened our stay by 1 night (due to v bad haze). Hotel was kind enough not to penalise me for the last minute cancellation. Not so good : we asked front desk to check if Universal Studios wld be closed (due to haze). they promised but did not call me back. have to call myself. The Hotel feels and looks old. the main door (hv to force it shut ~ they even put up the'maintenance sign at door) and the phone were not working properly. New Hotels have added security features where only guests with card keys hv access to our floors. not this hotel. furnitures look run-down too. With many new hotels there and capella, Shang needs to spruce things up pronto. Unfortunately, this Hotel doesn't live up to its name. NASA
