The Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple is a 19th century traditional Chinese temple that is situated at the heart of downtown Singapore. The temple is one of the most important to the Chinese of Singapore, as is where they pray to the Goddess of Mercy to bring good luck. Construction was originally completed in 1895 using traditional Chinese architectural styles and building techniques. After extensive renovation in 1982, the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple can now accommodate more people in its ornate interior. The temple is known to be one of the most charitable in Singapore.
