East Coast hotels
The 20 kilometre strip of golden beach on the East Coast of Singapore is well known by locals as a place to relax, catch some sun, and eat some of the best authentic food at places like the East Coast Food Lagoon Centre or the Sin Huat Seafood restaurant. After deciding amongst the multitude of dishes available, one can hire a boat to see Pulau Ubin, a traditional fishing island nearby. For the active family, Forest Adventure, a two-hour jungle obstacle course suitable for those five years old and up is a great place to work up a sweat.
- Walk, cycle, or inline-skate the 15-kilometre perimeter track at East Coast Park, then fire up the BBQ pit and cook a feast for the family.
- See how it was at Changi Chapel and Museum, a Japanese POW camp memorial and the Singapore setting for James Clavell’s King Rat.
- Work on your golf swing at the Marina Bay Golf Course, Singapore’s only 18-hole public course.
Changi International Airport is located at the northern tip of Singapore’s East Coast. The MRT station is located under Terminals 2 and 3, and the airport also offers transfers via free shuttle to selected locations, as well as buses, taxis, and car rental offices. Taxis and buses are available for travel along the East Coast, but for a lazy day of seeing the sights, hire a bicycle and work your way along the food strip. Bumboats depart from Changi Beach Pier to the outer islands when they have at least 12 passengers.
