Changi Village hotels
Along the north-eastern coastline of Singapore lies the picturesque and modern neighbourhood of Changi Village, which is rich in history and endowed with verdant coastal greenery, a regular gastronome’s paradise. Once described as a ghost town by locals following the devastation of World War II, this village was rapidly developed from 2005 on and, today, serves as one of Singapore’s most popular holidaymaker destinations, drawing thousands of visitors every year from all over the world. Simply put, Changi Village features all the essentials a visitor would expect of a relaxing getaway, including a beautiful beach, as well as connoisseur-grade restaurants, coffee shops, lively pubs, and myriad water-related family-fun activities.
- Swim, snorkel, camp, barbecue, or spot sea urchins, rare horseshoe crabs, and multi-coloured peacock anemones at the idyllic, sun-kissed Changi Beach.
- Explore the Changi Boardwalk, a 1.2-kilometre tour featuring the Cliff Walk, Kelong Walk, and the Sunset Walk, all offering unbelievable views of the Changi coastline.
- Hop into a traditional bumboat and head to Pulau Ubin Island for a peek into the vintage village life of 1960s Singapore, an area perhaps best explored on bicycle.
Changi Village is located just over 8 kilometres from Changi International Airport, the area’s major hub for international and regional airlines. The airport offers many transportation options, including Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) trains, taxis, buses, and car rental services. To reach the village by train from the airport, board any MRT (green line) train running to downtown Singapore or Pasir Ris district. Alight at the Tampines or Tanah Merah MRT stations, where buses offer regular services to the main bus terminal of Village Changi. Ferries also operate between the Changi Ferry Terminal and nearby islands such as Pulau Ubin, and Johor, Malaysia.
