Bukit Merah hotels
Bukit Merah, which means "red hill" in Malay, is a location in the south of Singapore. It was named after the red laterite earth present in the area. Located closely to the Keppel Harbor, which is home to Tanjong Pagar and Berani Port, this township has had a high boom in both residential as well as commercial development over the years. The shopping outlets, dining restaurants, and parks available in the vicinity further enhance Bukit Merah, making it a targeted point for tourists consisting of locals as well as foreigners.

Visitors will discover that public transportation in Singapore is very well integrated, with the local MRT train system and bus service providing the main forms of transport for locals. Both these services have a convenient mode of payment, an EZ-Link card (a prepaid card, which is to be used when entering and exiting both modes of transportation). Taxis, which are also widely available, are a bit hard to obtain during peak hours at Bukit Merah. Car rentals, on the other hand, are a less preferred mode of travel in the area, due to Singapore's congestion.
