Battle Box hotels
The Battle Box Museum is a top Singapore tourist destination, especially for visitors who are interested in the country’s military past. The site was a command post for British forces in the area during World War II and it consists of an extensive 26-room space that is completely based underground. Adding to its historical allure, the Battle Box Museum features lifelike wax figures of soldiers, some of which move and speak to the tourists. Primarily, the attraction focuses on the days immediately before the Japanese surrender in 1942, but the site itself was used several years before this event.
- Walk through the critical military rooms in the Battle Box Museum, including Fortress Command, Gun Operations, and the room where the Surrender Conference was held, and look for the etchings of Japanese Morse codes on the walls.
- Stop at the museum’s souvenir shop, the Store, to purchase commemorative items to remember your holiday in Singapore.
- Visit some of the other Singapore attractions located near the Battle Box Museum, including the Fort Gate, Raffles Terrace, and KeramatIskandarSyah.
Changi Airport is the largest air terminal near the Battle Box, so most travellers from other countries will be landing there. However, Singapore has several travel restrictions about the items that can be brought into the area, so it’s wise for passengers to inquire about restricted literature and goods before planning their trip. Throughout the region, the Mass Rapid Transit, or MRT, offers a smooth, quick way to get to the Battle Box Museum, which is located on Cox Terrace. The local bus system also offers travel to the area.
