Armenian Church hotels
The Armenian Church of Saint Gregory the Illuminator is a cherished national monument located in the Museum Planning Area of the Singapore Central Business District. Built in 1835, it is the oldest Christian church in the country and one of the finest architectural landmarks for the city. Many consider the church to be the finest examples of George Drumgoole Coleman's designs. The famous Irish architect was also responsible for many other historical buildings in this city, such as the St. Andrew's Anglican Church and the stately Palladian home that is now the Arts House at Old Parliament gallery.
- Enjoy cultural performances like classical music concerts and poetry reading presented by the Armenian Ensemble who perform regularly at the Armenian Church.
- Learn about the city's long and rich history at the National Museum of Singapore, which houses a permanent historical collection covering the past 600 years as well as modern cultural exhibits in the Living Galleries.
- Admire the Spice Garden, Gothic Gates, and several other historic structures in Fort Canning Park, like the cupolas designed by Singapore's beloved George Drumgoole Coleman.
Changi Airport is twenty kilometres from the Armenian Church via the East Coast Parkway (ECP), and the fastest public transport for this route is the Metro East-West line or the number 36 bus. These two methods are inexpensive, but the trip will take at least an hour. Taxis, whilst more expensive, make the trip to central Singapore in less than thirty minutes. You can arrive in the city by coach bus or train from Malaysia as well. The Armenian Church is located on Hill Street, which is served by the East-West Metro and numerous public bus routes.
