Arab Street hotels
Founded as a British trading colony in 1819, Singapore has since developed into a city-state that is located in Southeast Asia. It is separated into a number of districts, which include Chinatown, Little India, Bugis, and Kampong Glam. A popular attraction in this state is the Arab Street located in the Kampong Glam district. Though it is known for its exceptional shopping, historically it is where Arab traders settled in the state’s colonial days. Arab Street is where tourists can experience Singaporean consumerism at its finest in the form of bazaars, restaurants, and traditional textile businesses and shops.
- Journey to the beautifully restored grounds of Istana Kampong Glam in Singapore, where you will find the Malay Heritage Centre and a small multimedia experience in its museum.
- Visit the Bugis Junction, conveniently located near Arab Street and built around restored shop houses; it is home to the BHG department store and a decoration shop.
- Dress to impress with the local Singapore fashion, boutique stores, and unique little shops located in Haji Lane in the Kampong Glam district.
There are not many nationalities that require a visa to enter Singapore, but it is best to check before you start your trip. The Changi Airport is large, well organized, and serves commuters travelling in and out of the city. You can get to your hotel or other destinations like Arab Street and Little India by using a metered taxi, hiring a limousine, getting on a shuttle, or catching a bus or MRT train. Aeroline, First Coach, NICE, Transnasional, and Transtar are some of the bus companies operating in Singapore.
