City trip

Good hotel, very good buffet breakfast and good rooms. We did have to change rooms in the middle of the night (staff made no problems out of it) because of the strong smoking smell coming out of the bathroom. Our second room was also ok at the beginning but the same problem occurred. We slept with the window open. Another ladie was also complaining about the issue so it seems they do have a problem with smoke coming into the rooms. But overall we had a very good stay.

average hotel, poor location

the hotel itself had all of the basics, and for the price it was worth it, although the location was not ideal. it was in a sketchier part of oslo, and it tooks a while to get to the harbor or karl-johan's gate (main food/shopping strip). there is a bus and tram stop just outside the hotel, but to walk to the harbor/karl-johan is about 20 mins through a seedy part of town. 20 mins is not far, but for a city that is totally walkable, it can be tiring at the end of your day when the walk is unpleasant. i had stayed the previous couple nights at a different hotel that included breakfast (there is an option to purchase breakfast at this hotel as well) that was about $20USD more per night, but it was totally worth it! the breakfast was a MASSIVE buffet that included smoked salmon (WUUUUUTTTTTTTTT!?!?!?!?!?!!?) and had a much better location (near the national theatre) that was 10 mins walking to the harbor that i also felt safe doing. for the extra cash per night, i would have preferred to stay there instead of switching to this hotel, but it was already paid for. i would recommend this hotel if you are a little short cashed, because it is a really good price for such an expensive city, but if you can spare a few extra $$ per night, the location really makes a difference.

Dull hotel

This hotel really needs to fresh up its corridors and common areas, very dull hotel. No extras. Ok if you're on a budget, but I've seen cheaper alternatives in Oslo.
