Grunerlokka is definitely the place for outdoor enthusiasts, and offers such activities as riding a bike, walking, jogging, and great picnic spots. Imagine walking or riding a bike along the lovely Akerselven River, admiring the jumping salmon, gazing at the beautiful parks, and getting a glimpse into the history of Oslo. Those who love jibbing will be interested to know that there is an indoor jibbing park at Grunerlokka. This park has a 20-metre rail, which happens to be the longest in Norway. However, the park is open only during the winter months.
- Visit Hopp i Havet, or "Jump in the Sea," which is a perfect destination for families with young children; parents may enjoy a drink and a lovely view of Grunerlokka at the cafe whilst the kids enjoy slides and trampolines.
- Go to Vulkanklatresenter, or the Vulkan Climbing Centre, in Oslo to test your climbing skills, whether you are an amateur or an expert.
- Discover the history of Norwegian pop music at Popsenteret in Oslo, which features historical exhibits and interactive music stations.
Many visitors choose to arrive at the Oslo Airport, also known as Gardermoen. Upon arrival, the airport's rapid train, Flytoget, can transport visitors to the city's central railway station. From there, walk to take a quick taxi to the board tram numbers 11, 12 or 13, which head to Kjelsas, Disen, or Grefsen Station respectively. Then, get off from the tram at the Olav Ryes stop. For those enjoy exploring on foot, Grunerlokka is a great walking destination. A walk from the country's capital city only takes around 20 minutes.
