Ideal stay in City

Have stayed there before and would recommend. Staff went the extra mile to flag down a taxi on the street and negotiate a good price when I was rather late heading to airport

not what we expected.

It's defiantly nothing like the pictures on Web page. Which was disappointing as it was my nephews first stay in a hotel and it was less tidy than his own house. Beds wrinkled, mouldy shower, chipped walls, windows very discusting and soft soft soft mattress. When we arrived Sat morning the room was like a sauna. No air conditioning with only 1 window that opened, had to leave the room as was way to hot. We got a desk fan that needed to be on all night. Brochure said it had sky sport 1 so we decided to get dinner and watch rugby in the room, turns out it's sky sport 3 which meant missing the rugby (big deal for us). Also when we checked in they took $50 deposit off credit card which we didn't expect. I feel like the motel let the whole trip down. Wellington BEAUTIFUL place. Just disappointing staying there.

Fantastic family getaway

It was pleasant for an overnight stay. Only negative was that the restaurant attached to the hotel was not open for dinner.

Family Gettogether

Was pleasantly surprised to be told that we had out room upgraded, a nice gesture. Room needs a little do up but otherwise good. Perhaps a bit of soundproofing between rooms too! Staff very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast is good value.

Pleasant Hotel with nice bathroom

First time staying at Abel Tasman. A discounted stay from Rates to Go made the room good value. We found the bed seemed small for 2 people. Bathroom was lovely and clean and spacious although the fan on 24/7 was annoying at night. Carpet was very stained in 2 areas, but otherwise the room was clean and warm. We were given 3 towels which was a bonus - Perhaps due to the fact that there was a single bed in room also. Hairdryer good. Coffee/tea selection average. Pillows selection poor - Either high and firm or lumpy. Staff pleasant. Coffee great in Bistro.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Close to markets/food court which opened late last year. Close to bus stop/airport flyer on Manners too - Mostly undercover to get there.

Good basic service.Excellent cafe for breakfast, with great service.

Good value but location a drawback - you need taxis or a long walk to get to anywhere important, eg Lampton Quay and Courtenay Places cafes.

Not quite what we expected

The staff were very friendly and helpful but the hotel quality and facilities were not nearly as good as we expected. Noisy (other guests and road noise) and cold rooms with all lights failing in one of the rooms three times.

great break

Enjoyed my stay, went to NZ Archives, also did the tourist thing- Te papa, Botanic Gardens, heaps of walking and buses(using my gold card) staff really helpful, gave me directions, rang me when my room was ready, did my check in for air ticket, booked taxi for me, couldn't have asked for more. Restaurant staff very pleasant but meal size of their special offer was very meagre so only ate there once for dinner.
