Te Papa Museum is a popular attraction among tourists as well as locals, which places it right in the middle of the Wellington action and readily accessible by public transportation. From its central location downtown, the museum looks out over the Lambton Harbour, across from Waitangi Park. You can take bus route 24 and get off at Te Papa Museum stop, directly across from the complex. There are a few other bus stations scattered in the blocks between Oriental Parade and Taranaki Street, so it is an easy walk to the museum past downtown cafes, galleries and shops.
