Disappointed with hotel, not with the town.

I suppose this was a 'get what you pay for' experience. The room was way below that of a 5 star resort with a water damaged, swollen bathroom door that was has to open and filthy grouting in the shower. Also having to wait till after 4pm for our room to be serviced on our second night #that was after getting them on to it# was a big problem as we really needed the room as we were very tired from activities in the region. Tekapo is a fantastic part of the world and we had plenty to do.

Lovely, but could be better

This is a lovely facility, but for the price, it needs to do better with the service. Heat pumps didn't seem to work, there were lovely coffee makers in the apartments, but the box of capsulest said the coffee had a charge, but we couldn't find anywhere how much it cost. Note: the apartments layout is upstairs living and downstairs bedrooms and bathroom. Not ideal for elderly or disabled. When we phoned for room service we were told it stopped at 10pm, but it didn't say that on the menu in the apartment. Lovely views and pleasant atmosphere. The gas fire was a real treat on a cold night. Kitchen well equipped. Would be a lovely place to spend a few days relaxing but $350 a night, it is not cheap

A bit too far back

We did try to request to get a unit that was closer to the lake or at least to the reception but was rejected in a very rude way. Our unit was very nicely equipped but a but too far behind compared to the rest of the units.

Tiny hotel room

It is the smallest hotel room I have ever been. The bed was too soft and wasn't comfortable.

Worst View EVER with the best place on earth

The hotel was so called situated overlooking the deep turquoise waters of the lake with panoramic views to the southern alps. Not the room they gave us, on ground level facing rocks. Room were tiny with not much space to turn. Shocking ever experience. My experience was so much better to stay in a bed and breakfast or backpacker than a tiny mini room with view of rocks. It was a Sunday night we stayed and we walk around the hotel compound during night time and found most of the rooms with better views was not even occupied and yet the staff could gave us the room facing rocks. It is not worth the money and fully not recommended.

Really enjoyed!

My husband and I stayed in a Hotel Room. It was great, nice and tidy, comfortable, clean, spacious bathroom, kind staff, handy location all of it at an affordable rate. Next time we go to Lake Tekapo we want to stay at Peppers again.
