Perfect in every way!

Arrived after a very hectic 8 days in a camper van to a world of luxury and pampering. The staff at this hotel make it really stand out, nothing is too much trouble and they are available to help you out with whatever you need. The rooms are very spacious and well designed with lots of little touches that make this hotel a cut above the rest. Excellent food, great location, perfect service what more could you want!

Loved this hotel

From the minute I arrived, the service was excellent. It was raining and I was greeted at the car with an umbrella. Staff at check in were thoughtful and efficient (noticed my Qantas club tag on my bag and mentioned points). Room was an excellent size, nice outlook. Staff in the restaurant were also excellent, the lad who showed me to my room was great. All in all, a very positive experience and one of the best night's sleep I've had in a hotel in a long time.

Christchurch stopover

Low rise (4 stories) Ideally situtated on the edge of the CBD/Red zone, overlooking the park, close to the Botanic gardens. There are few hotels open centrally following the eathquake. Bedroom faciliities exceedingly comfortable, with well equipped bathroom/shower. Staff welcoming and helpful, remaining cheerful despite the continuing aftershocks.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Red zone is still off limits to tourists, there are limited cafe/restaurants/shops within walking distance. Much better to stay at the George rather than out at the airport.

Newly refurbished, the room was brilliant. All staff were particularly friendly and eager to help. Location was also excellent with only a short and pleasant walk to the centre of the city. And definitely take advantage of the restaurants; we only used "50 on the Park" but the food was absolutely first rate. Can highly recommend the George Hotel on our experience.
