Cricket World Cup stay

Stayed three nights on a B&B package. Hotel was well positioned to allow us to walk to Eden Park for cricket and into the city for major sights. Be aware you will need to pay $20 per night for parking if you have a car. Room (King) was good size but for the money would expect more than 1 hour free Wi-Fi. We faced Grey Street and hence got arvo sun so room always very hot when we returned. The air con unit appeared to be a temporary unit (but installed as though permanent) that struggled to cool room down. Very uncomfortable. Our shower screen leaked badly. We raised with reception on first occasion who promptly provided extra towels as others were soaked through from absorbing the water. Subsequent days we were not left any extra towels despite it being obvious (sopping wet towels on the floor) that there was an ongoing problem. Breakfast buffet was good (loved the Bircher muesli) but this was the first hotel we've experienced where you have to pay extra if you want an omelette even though you had paid for a full breakfast buffet. Overall a disappointing experience. I'm a frequent stayer at the Amora in Sydney which is an excellent hotel. Sadly this Amora is not in same class.

Great trip, hotel not so much

We booked a room with kingsize bed, she promised me when booking, she contacted the hotel while I was on hold to check for this and reassured me this was booked, on arrival we got a queen, my partner is over 6 feet, so not a very good sleep. Also no mini bar, nobody informed us that the whole 4th floor don't have this, when I read up this hotel it said that rooms are equipped with one. Overall not impressed, paid a lot of money but wasn't worth it.

Weekend Away

My studio room at the Amora provided me with an excellent home-away-from-home my weekend in Auckland. It was pleasant, clean, and reasonably situated to public transport. The buffet breakfast at the hotel resturant was delicious, and the staff friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the air-conditioning: It's provided by fairly old, portable units that are loud and can't be run for long on the lower settings. This makes for some uncomfortable nights if you visit in the middle of a hot summer!

A night in Auckland

Only 10 minutes from the Sky Tower, which I highly recommend, & 15 minutes from the Viaduct Harbour for great ocean side dining. Good size rooms with all that you need under 1 roof.

Easy walk up and down town

Booked a concert in Queen Street and wanted a hotel within easy walk of there and K Road for a good meal first. Chose the Amora because of location and was not disappointed. A little noisy at night as emergency services close by and as we came from the country took a little time to adjust. Still the room was clean and tidy, the service was great and we would stay again
