The hotel is quiet nice, the staff are great, the location is a bit out of the way and I'd suggest a re think if you wanted to get into town or are spending more than a couple of days in Amsterdam.
We picked the Hotel based on price at the time
of the booking. In hind sight we would now pay a bit more money and chose a hotel closer to the city.
It is close to the airport and there is a free shuttle bus to the Novatel which is up the road from this hotel. You are then required to walk with your bags to your hotel which is approx 150 - 200m meters away.
We took a cab from the airport and were ripped off by a cab driver paying $30EU for what in the end should have been a $10 EU cab ride $18 EU showing on his meter.
To get into the City we took the bus at about $5 EU per person. It's No 145 and takes about 30 - 40 minutes travel time into the city. A quick note about Amsterdam it's full of push bikes which ignore road rules even pedestrian crossings. We where nearly hit many times just trying to cross the road.
There are a couple of shops near the hotel. Near means a brisk 10 - 15 minute walk. There is a supermarket and bottle shop. PLEASE NOTE there is no where else to get breakfast or fast food/dinner away from the hotel and the shops close at approx 5pm!
Food prices at the hotel are $14.95EU for break fast from $25 EU for dinner per person. There are Italian and French restaurant's located in the Hotel.
There is also free WiFi although it's pretty slow. But when it's free you cannot really complain.
Overall a nice Hotel however like everything in Amsterdam pricey. If you are spending more than a couple of days in Amsterdam then I'd certainly recommend a hotel closer to the City.
