Nice and simple on prime location

Booked this fairly new hotel for a bargain price at about 40 EUR/night. Didn't expect much but instead got a very comfortable room with a nice bathroom, a king size bed and flatscreen TV. Free wifi in the room and a good shower after a night out partying was all I needed. Nothing fancy, just a clean hotel in a prime location just off Leidse Square with easy check in and helpful staff. Matrass could have been better, but I am not complaining at this rate per night.

What a gem!

We booked original at a other place, had a delayed flight and missed connection hence had to rebook . Original hotel felt sorry for us but not sorry enough to assist financially ie we had to pay full charge for 2 days. Disappointed with that "service" we immediately looked for another hotel. The iron horse made up double on whatever issue we had with our first hotel. The legitimate service, cleanliness ,location, staff deserve all full marks. Even the breakfast, simple but fresh, plenty and clean, deserves a full mark too. Room not very big, but we only stayed for one night and the bathroom was clean and was spacy enough. I will use this hotel again next time we visit this amazing city.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The tram is close ask for 24 hour ticket if you like or need to use the tram. Amsterdam is not really big all attractions are not far apart. We hired a push bike and easily covered all the places of interest in one (full) day.
