We enjoyed our stay at this lovely old Hacienda. Our room was in the new part, a corner room with views across most of the city of beautiful Merida. The room was very comfortable, quite large, no wifi in it though. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel is close to many very good restaurants, the market and the many squares where at night there is always something happening. The restaurant at the hotel we did not like, the food was very poor quality. We did the horse and carriage ride thru town - this was most enjoyable. We would choose this hotel again if we return to Merida.

Good Hotel with Monty Python moments

Surprisingly one of the best hotels in Merida. Despite its location, history and atmosphere it is a little tired and the attentive staff seem to offer a few MontyPython moments like automatically refilling my morning tea with coffee because they were trying too hard and under a little pressure.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

As Merida is celebrating 400years every Sunday there are markets all around the plaza and at 6pm live musicians - in our case a wonderful Cuban band - play until about 10pm.
