Good Stay for 3 nights

The room and bathroom are clean but rather small. The bed is very comfortable. We were on a 10-day holiday in Penang - 2 nights Evergreen Laurel, 3 Park Royal Beach Resort, 1 E&O, 3 Yeng Keng and of all the hotels, Yeng Keng's breakfast was the best. The staff were very helpful and professional.

Excellent Hotel though rooms are small

Stayed in this hotel end of Nov and the hotel was perfect. Was there on a business trip and everything was within reach. The rooms are smaller than expected but cozy

Very well restored

The hotel has been very well restored apart from a few things where style has ruled over function. The washbasin was the worst example. It was a silly shape with nowhere to put soap and no hot water. The room wasn't very large but it was adequate. The location of the hotel is excellent and the choice for breakfast was very good. One small criticism is that many of the restaurant dinner items need 24 hours notice. The many magazines available is a nice touch.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Must go and see Pinang Peranakan Museum with lots of artefacts inside, more value worth than Khoo Kongsi. RM10 admission fee for each. Hotel a few steps away from famous chicken rice, other eateries also within walking distances. Must try the famous Pinang fried kway teow with belachan chilli, lots of towgay, smooth Ipoh hor fun, cockles & big crunchy prawns for RM6 & above. Nice street food but some rather pricey.
