Beautiful setting and immaculate facilities

Beautiful setting - long, uncrowded beach. The rooms are immaculate and lots of activities to choose from. Not many hotels have their own jungle with orang utans next door. Even with the ongoing building works, they are being very careful not to disturb the guests.

Alcohol is expensive - like most restaurants in Malaysia - so visit a wine store in Kota Kinabalu on the way to the hotel.

more deck chairs and assistance needed near the pool areas!

great hotel except there was just not enough deck chairs near the pools - they were already filled or had towels on them by 10.30 in the morning and throughout the whole day. there was also no one around to help me haul some vacant deck chairs from the beach area so we had to do it ourselves every day. People were already hogging deck chairs as early as 9am by placing towels on chairs which they did not even use till late afternnoon. as a result some peopler just resorted to laying out towels on the floor near the pool side which is not something i expected to see in a 5 star hotel.

Excellent week

Stayed for a week in November 2011 whilst renovations were in full swing so some facilities were not available, however the staff were all friendly and the only hiccup was the air conditioner didn't feel as cool as it could have been. Have seen the resort before in 2009 and would stay again when the reno's have finished

I have used hotel shuttle to downtowntwice, and going is OK, but coming back is serious timing problem (too long) which you should definitely review. We waited at 1 Borneo for nothing for 20minutes. Also the frequency of the shuttle bus is not convenient. I think you should review as well.
