Hachiko Statue hotels
Hachiko Statue sits outside Shibuya Station in the centre of Shibuya, Tokyo's lively nightlife and shopping district. The small bronze monument honours the memory of Hachiko, who belonged to Professor Ueno of the University of Tokyo in the 1920s. The wily pup would meet his master every evening at the station without fail, even after the professor died suddenly while teaching in 1925. Hachiko continued his daily vigil outside the station for nine years and became a legend in Japan. Today, the popular Hachiko Statue stands in his place as a symbol of unwavering loyalty and love.
