Clean, good location, friendly staff

We had a pleasant experience, we were a little let down by the spa experience going down only one day out of four. We also didn't feel a drink would have been value for money in the bar due to price and others must have felt the same because during our four day stay we didn't see anybody having a drink there. Staff were excellent, friendly and as helpful as possible, be it extra pillows, an ironing board (poor condition) or an umbrella for the rain. We didnt dine in the hotel as we thought this too was too expensive

Good location, close to most attractions

The hotel is decorated/furnished in the true Italian tradition of beauty, quality and modern. Good location and nice breakfast. Staffs are helpful. The hotel ‘s business/service model however distract from the positives. For instance Iron is not provided in the rooms, guests has to have their cloths done for a fee even if it is for removing creases after folding, coffee and tea making kettles are not provided in the rooms guest have to go to the 2 floor to make their own- we accidently discovered the service. At breakfast guest have to order their coffee, even though it is buffet. A meal we ordered at the rooftop garden restaurant turn out to be very disappointing, we had ordered a hot dinner meal what we were served was obviously straight from the freezer. Unfortunately this dinner service is all that we remember from the hotel as this meal was to celebrate our anniversary.

Reasonably Happy

Staff very friendly, however a few issues to note: First morning we waited half an hour for our cooked breakfast & when we reminded the waiter, it had been overlooked. Suffered badly with moquitoes in our room, despite all windows being shut, Also could not turn off our main light, had to call maintenance, this happened twice, Jacuzzi - cold Turkish bath - in darkness and smelt damp. Black patches in the corners of the swimming area. Despite the above enjoyed our stay, excellent location, just didn't reach our 5* expectations

Good Value

The location is perfect rally quite finance district so no excess noise at night. Metro Tube is a 2 min walk which is great for getting round for only 1 euro. Spanish steps and Trevi fountain are 10 min walk away. I paid £500 at the last minute for 3 nights which was worth it. It is not a 5* hotel like we have in Britain however it is still very nice. I dont understand the reviewers of rude staff, everyone on reception throughout the day and night are lovely and very helpful, offered to print out boarding passes and borrowed us a plug adapter for free, the doormen are dopes but hadly worth slating the hotel for. The spa is not a 5* one but its ok im sure they dont put chorline in the pool, The wifi is completely free too. Again the rooms are not absolutley sparking new so there is some wear and tear to the fixtures but the bed and bathroom are cleaned well. If you have time to be looking at skirting boards you have too much time are your hands and Rome is wasted on you.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

resaurant called - Vecchia Locanda - absolutely superb meal with great staff and very welcoming and do not rip you off with service charges and bread charges. The hotel recommends Gusto which is nice in the pizzeria section downstaris BUT DO NOT go to the restaurant Gusto as the staff are the most miserable people ever not just some of them but all of them and they have the cheek to charge you a serivce charge and food is over priced and nothing special.
