Villa Ada hotels
Villa Ada is the biggest nature park in Rome, Italy. Covering 182 hectares, the park bears archaeological testimony to its interesting history. On a hill called Monte Antenne a fort was built between 1882 and 1891 to defend the city. An old mosque sits along Via di Ponte Salario which looks out over the Tiber valley. There are plenty of activities to engage in from renting a pony ride to bicycling or rowing a canoe. There is lots of space to take a nature walk or find a quiet spot for a rest under a tree.
- See a concert in Rome in the summertime put on by the Villa Ada Incontroil Mondo festival, featuring music styles such as Indian, African, Mediterranean, and Southern Italian.
- Study the history of the park and visit Monte Antenne, drive through the gates on Via Salaria and go left by the military base and hike the rest of the way up hill to see what's left of Forte Antenne.
- Visit the nearby Catacombs di Pricilla in Rome and view the breathtaking frescos on the walls depicting bible stories dating back to the 2nd century, AD.
When visiting Rome, Italy, people can get to the Villa Ada through its conveniently located entrances on the Via Salaria and the Via di Ponte Salario. The best way to get there is to take a bicycle or ride a motor scooter. Otherwise, take the public bus transport system. The Rome Public Bus service is very clean and buses run regularly out of Termini Station, the transportation hub located in the centre of the city.
