Pincio Gardens hotels
The Pincio Gardens, often known as the Pincian Gardens to the locals, in Rome, Italy, are almost as old as the city itself. The Gardens, however, have more of a 19th century French vibe, which is much more formal than the traditional gardens of Rome. The Gardens, whilst very beautiful, are best known for the famous busts of Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo, and many others that dot the shaded pathways. The Gardens are located on the top of the Pincian Hill in the northeast of Rome, about a fifteen minute walk from the historic centre of the city.
- Take a leisurely walk around the Pincio Gardens in Rome and appreciate the foliage and the busts of many famous Europeans whilst you drink a cup of caffé before getting a panoramic view of the city.
- Visit the ancient obelisk in the middle of the Pincio Gardens, where it has resided since 1822 but actually dates back to 2nd century AD.
- Visit the water clock, built in 1867 and a great favourite of the Pincio Gardens in Rome for its interesting design and beauty.
Rome is an enormous city and though you can get anywhere you need on foot, the way to see the city as a true Roman and to get to the Pincio Gardens is to hire a Vespa, which are typically priced reasonably. However, if you’re not comfortable on two wheels, the easiest way to get to the gardens is the Metro. Simply find your nearest station and look for the Flaminio - Piazza del Popolo stop; there will be plenty of signs that will guide you to the Pincio Gardens, about five minutes away by foot.
