Porta Venezia served as one of the gates of the city in historical Milan, Italy. Its structure can be traced as far back as the Roman period. Its current name (“Venice Gates”) was given in the nineteenth century. It consists of two twin buildings which functioned as customs agencies back in the day. Today, there are still statues of Roman deities adorning both buildings.
