Rosslare Strand hotels
Rosslare General Information
County Wexford offers visitors to Ireland a genuine dash of Emerald Isle charm and culture. Home to a rich history with roots in the Neolithic Age, the county has a notable list of destinations to explore, from the town of Wexford to the Blackstairs Mountains, Duncormick to the Saltee Islands. With ancient archaeological sites, grand castles, verdant hills and tidy villages, County Wexford is sublime.
One pre-eminent point of interest in the county is Rosslare. A mere 160 km from Dublin and 190 km from Cork, Rosslare has a long legacy as a tourist attraction. The formal name of the town is Rosslare Strand, which demarcates the village from nearby Rosslare Harbour, some 8 km away, which provides ferry access to England. The primary and perhaps only tourist attraction of note in Rosslare is the village’s expansive and spectacular Blue Flag beach. The gorgeous span of Irish Sea coast is a perpetual favourite come summer and inevitably teems with domestic and international tourists alike. The area of Rosslare is also home to some of the best golf in Ireland, though the bucolic scenery can be a bit of a distraction. Wexford is a 15 km drive from the village proper and doles out a number of excellent landmarks, restaurants, pubs and annual festivals.
