Trendy Romantic Getaway but hotel food & drink prices too expensive

Have dreamt of staying in the G for many years so when we saw an affordable rate to do so we jumped at it. We booked the Superior King, although the decor is very stylish & boutique the room was on the small side. As always the hotel decor is outstanding however our hope to chill out in the hotel for the two nights was just too expensive. The cost of a glass of wine is €9 and 2 bloody Mary's were €22, a round of drinks accross the road in the Hunstman was €10.50! Big difference. Also was disappointed that my partner was charged €10 as a hotel quest to use the Thermal Suite while I was having a treatment. I appreciate the hotel is more upmarket but the prices need to reflect the economy. Breakfast was delicious there but for a boutique hotel I was disappointed that the gluten free bread option was a cheap ingredient frozen crumpet. We would have loved to eat in the hotel for the few days but we just could not justify the high prices. Would love to stay as a guest again but only if they review the menu/drink prices. Overall decor etc it was very nice.

G-tastic!

Really enjoyed our one night at the g hotel... cocktails before dinner were a sumptious treat, and Afternoon Tea on Sunday before we left topped off the whole experience. Savour sandwiches, sweet treats and scones with real clotted cream... couldn't get any better!
