Hotel Horror

Avoid this hotel by any means. The room was overpriced and freezing cold with broken radiators which made it a very unpleasant experience and to add to this there were old smelly blankets thrown over the bed making it rather disgusting to sleep in. We were also given two single beds instead of a double bed which was requested over a month in advance. Each time a tap was used or the toilet was flushed a loud rumbling sound could be heard for several minutes afterwards. Overall the room was very dated and run down for the priced paid. The staff were rude, unapproachable and very unfriendly. The experiences I had with the staff while staying in The Regency were the worst I had ever endured. Needless to say I will NEVER be returning to The Regency again.

Half way from airport to city

Was good for my business trip as half way from town to airport. If a leisure trip then more central would be better. Very good value.

Extremely unpleasant experience

Booked a budget room which is in a run down part of the hotel. The main hotel is on one side but they have budget rooms on other side which are shabby, extremely cold and ofcourse cheap. Got what i paid for will never go back again. Advice is if you have to book this hotel then donot book a budget room.

Good budget hotel

We stayed in the budget section of the hotel. Room had no microwave, fridge or TV remote control. The biggest issue was with the central heating, which regularly switches off between 12am and 12pm, so room is sometimes really cold with wet windows. Location - 15 minutes by frequent bus to downtown. Centra convenience store is just steps by the hotel. You can buy bus tickets and food for a good price. Amenities: we tried sauna and the steam room (both free) and they were also mostly cold. The same goes for a lobby, which is also mostly cold as employees and travelers open the entrance doors. We recommend this hotel to Dublin visitors as it's about 15 minutes to airport. We assume that they will already have bus tickets so they won't mind traveling into downtown on them. We would recommend not to stay in the budget section but in the regular one.

The Regency Dublin

The positives are that it has a good bus link into town,16,41,41b,41c or 44. All taken from Lower Abbey Street in the centre of Dublin. The breakfast is fantastic value. The rooms are clean. The bar staff are friendly enough. I didn't check out the spa or pool as I had intended. On the down side the rooms were very cold upon arrival and we had to ask for the heating to be put on and some areas of the hotel and parts of the rooms were clearly in need of renovation/smartening up. If I had paid full price I'd have been disappointed but at the discount I got I was happy enough.

Great Value

Budget room - exactly as it states - very budget ; bathroom tiny. Breakfast ok. However pool, sauna, steam room & jacuzzi are excellent. Good value. Would book an excetutive room next time - in refurbished end of the hotel.

The mattress was bad, I could

The mattress was bad, I could feel the springs. It was a couple of miles from town but we could take the buss. The breakfast was good. The gym was good. There was a small grocery next door that was good.

I had a very comfortable stay

I had a very comfortable stay at this hotel .You must ask for the newly decorated rooms as the older ones are a little depressing . The location is good as it is not far from the airport but easy to get to the city centre with the local bus. There is a nice pool too.I would certainly come back here again.
