Great location

V disappointed with the bedroom/bathroom... We booked a month in advance and we got a room with twin beds... The bathroom was tiny, two people wouldn't fit in there. The bath was half size, I'm a small size and 5'5 and was unable to lie back and relax in it... The fan was v noisy was unbelievably noisy. The side of the bath was filthy, with spots of blood on it, it should be replaced or at least repainted. The room in general was v old-fashioned. We were on the 6th floor, maybe all the rooms on this floor were the same and the rest of the hotel rooms are in far better condition... The staff were friendly and the reception area was v nice. I wouldn't recommend this hotel judging by the bathroom of our room. Unfortunately, we are booked in next month for a function we are attending a function in Dublin, otherwise we would think twice about returning. I'm afraid it gets thumbs down, even though, great location and price

Good value hotel

Hi! I stay in this hotel a number of times each year. it's somewhat run down, in that carpets are well worn and fittings and curtains in the rooms are not what they may have been once. However, this is a great value hotel- room rate great, location good, a few minutes walk from UCD and Ballsbridge, bus stop out side the door for easy access to and from city centre. Free car parking. Lots of hot water in room, TV, toiletries, tea and coffee, rooms are large. Shabby and worn but such good value.

Cheap Hotel rooms near city centre

Hotel is pefectly clean and functionial. Its decor is a bit dated and drab but perfectly adequate for a brief stay where location and costs are factors. Enda

I have stayed a numbered of times

I have stayed a numbered of times this year in the Tara Towers. The premises is showing some signs of wear and tear. However, the location is excellent, good eateries near by, very close to UCD, RDS, Aviva Stadium. Free car parking. The hotel and rooms are clean, rooms are spacious and plenty of hot water. Complementary tea and coffee in the room. Service excellent. During my most recent stay, I checked in, to discover that the room was near roof-located air conditioning system, outside my window. As I'm a light sleeper, I asked the receptionist if it was possible to relocate my room. she did so immediately and was very pleasant about doing so. I shall definitely stay again.

We were very happy with our stay.

We were very happy with our stay. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The hotel is very convenient for access to the city centre and south Dublin and is well served by both a bus stop just outside and the rail service in walking distance. The price was very good for what we got. The room was fine with a wonderful view out over Dublin Bay. However, it was very warm so we needed to keep the window open and there was constant traffic noise through the night. But apart from that we have no complaints.

Average 3 star hotel situated

Average 3 star hotel situated on the coast with good bus links to downtown Dublin and the airport. Normal Irish breakfast, but no fresh fruit, only canned grapefruit and oranges. Pleasant pub within the hotel. WiFi free of charge in the lobby. Very limited choice of TV programmes.

Even though i found the room clean

Even though i found the room clean and tidy i was unimpressed with such second class furniture for an executive room. The chest of drawers had a number of handles missing, the TV cabinet had 1 door broken off,the small round glass-topped table beside the room window wobbled, due to the feet not being very level on the carpet, and the mixer taps in the bathroom were not fixed in position very well as they could be moved from side to side. A cooked breakfast was available in the resturant, also bread rolls, cereals, orange juice, tea, coffee and toast for those who don't eat a cooked breakfast, such as myself. However the eating area was a shambles and had to be seen to be believed. It was like a teaspoon cafe, which was very untidy.Tables with no tablecloths, milk jugs not refilled fast enough and not all the necessary cultery available.I had to take the milk jug from the table behind me to put some in my tea and a knife from the empty seat beside me to butter my toast.I expected better.
