Welcome back

We'd been here a number of times in the '90s and '00s. Indeed, our first ever trip to Ireland together, in '95, was to the Royal Marine, so we were so sad to hear that this hotel was closing down. But it appears that they weren't demolishing all of it, just the naff extension, which they've now replaced that with a much better up-to-the-minute block, and they've kept the glorious old part too. Oh, and a good size underground carpark too. Not very convenient if you're visiting central Dublin (though the DART is there), but great for the Dun Laoghaire area, or if you're breaking your journey having come in on the ferry. And oh - some of the new rooms actually have enough sockets for anyone. Two each side of the bed, and another half dozen elsewhere: I so wish other hotels would learn from this.

Classic Comfort

The Royal Marine Hotel is first class and in a near perfect location to launch a shopping trip to Dublin City via the Dart service which is only down the road. Plenty of underground parking, very comfortable rooms and great amenities in the hotel. Dun Laoghaire may have become a ghost town but the Royal Marine is a brilliant as ever.

fantastic

We stayed for two nights, we had a fantastic time. Location is excellent. 2min walk from the Dart. Staff were very friendly. Didn't eat in the hotel thought the prices were a little expensive. Would definitely return! Would probably ask for a room with a view the next time.

consistently outstanding

As a 'thrice' yearly visitor to Dublin it never ceases to amaze me as to how the high standards are maintained. There is no need to search outside of the hotel for victuals, everything is here. Fortyfoot within 20 mins, a stroll along the pier, a pint, food, comfort and superbly welcoming staff... Top

An experience to be repeated!

We couldn't have chosen better for our Easter Weekend Break and our trip to the Leinster Rugby Match! From the receptionist greeting us at arrival right through to check out, the service was excellent. We really enjoyed and relaxed at the Spa too!

Happy to be back

I've often advised people to stay here to treat themselves. I've stayed at this hotel a few times. Even though, I've been staying on business, it feels like I'm spoiling myself. The rooms are enormous and very well equipped. I could have saved €15 by staying in a nearby hotel where the function I was attending was being held but what was on offer for that money was very basic, possibly even poor. On my last visit, the room was very warm (better than cold), too warm for me and I couldn't open the windows. A small complaint. The bar lacks atmosphere. Those are the only minor complaints I might make. The staff are efficient and friendly beyond expectations. I look forward to staying here again.
